last day

We’re getting ready for our last full day in San Francisco. It’s been amazing so far, and I’ll definitely be sorry to go home. I’ll post a full recap of our time here tonight, but in the meantime, check out my Flickr set – in our 4 days on the road so far, we took 140 photos. We’re heading to the science museum and the bridge today, among other things, so I imagine there will be many more pictures to come.

We’re hoping to make it to Portland tomorrow night where we’ll sleep before setting out for home. There’s a couple of places I want to check out there – Powell’s, for one, and Corazzo. We’ll drive home on Friday (after a quick stop in Seattle to see Ali, River and Doug if they’re free) and be home just in time to hand off the borrowed travel gear to Josh and Shan before they head out for THEIR trip to Sasquatch.

We have a full three days ahead of us, but I’m looking forward to it all.

Stay tuned for a super mega hyper extendo ultra purple update tonight!

  1. Beware… once you step into Powell’s it’s tough to leave without spending a couple of hours and at least a hundred bucks. Not that you shouldn’t go there, you definitely should, just be prepared!

  2. ooh, corazzo… i’ve been thinking about ordering the urbano gloves so you should try them on for me and let me know if they fit big or small (i think i’d probably need a women’s small, but don’t know for sure and i think you and i would wear the same size). :)

  3. Oooh Portland. While you were in San Fran, I was actually in Portland. It’s one of my favourite cities to visit so we go there a few times a year.

I know you’ve probably researched like crazy but here are some cool things to do when you’re there:

-Powell’s, obviously. My favourite place on earth

-Check out SE Hawthorne around 35-39th Ave. It’s kinda Main Street-y.

-Explore the area around Powell’s (the Pearl District) as there is quite a lot of cool stores if you walk for a while.

-There’s a Thai restaurant that we like a lot called Thai Peacock near 9th & Park

-If you are in the downtown area around lunch time, definitely hit the lunch trucks. It’s like a cornucopia of flavours!

-If you are feeling Outletty, there is a pretty decent one about 20-30 mins south of Portland called Woodburn. It’s kind of like the Seattle Premium ones but with no sales tax (thank you Oregon)

-If you are into Japanese gardens, the one in Portland is pretty awesome

    -Did I mention Powell’s?
